Beauty is dependent from the ideal and social environment. You can say, what beautiful is, but you can difficultly answer the question, why it is. Beautiful is something that leaves a good impression and that you like to recall.

Researchers of the University of Regenburg wanted to explore the question, what beauty is and why we sense something as beautiful. Today we are flooded with beautiful faces via internet or other media. The result of this is, that volunteers choose the faces as beautiful, which did not exist in reality but where morphed by a computer program. The faces had been manipulated this way, that they received more scheme of childlike.

Average

Previously people believed that an average face was crucial for beauty. By creating an artificial face people recognized that the more original faces were included into the target face, the more attractive the face become. But what is the reason? Perhaps by averaging ugly assymetries and irregularities of the skin could be compensated. Also wrinkles were reduced making the skin look younger and flawless. The question now was whether the average was crucial or the removal of stains by morphing. A test brought the answer. Themore attractive people were used, the more attractive was the resulting face what contradicted the average face as the main feature. The pure skin made the face more attractive.

Symmetry

Symmetry is also not a criterion. Symmetry can influence attractiveness, but not symmetrical faces can be attractive too and completely symmetrical can act repugnant.

Child scheme

The child's scheme represented by woman with large round eyes, a small node and a high domed forehead seems to be an important factor. Researchers could show that the woman face becomes more attractive by putting 10 to 50% child characteristics to it. For this reason childlike facial proportions are a crucial criterion.

Charisma

In general beautiful people's live is more easy. You are more helpful to them and they have it easier in job. Investigations of the social perception revealed that attractive people are accounted as intelligent, sociable, more exciting and creative. Nevertheless the charisma depends not only on the beauty. A well-kept appearance and positive attitude to life can perform wonders. Smiling, helpful and honest people also have a great attraction to others.

Beautiful are people who have a flawless, smooth skin and a nice appearance. Attractive women have a more brown skin, a narrow face and plenteous and well-kept lips.They also have a further distance between eyes, thinner eyelids, more and longer eyelashes, dark eyebrows, higher cheekbones and a narrower nose. For men attractivity the attributes are equal. In addition they differ by distinctive lower jaw and chin from unattractive men. Nevertheless beauty differ as an individual feeling.
